Prof.Dr. Satya Vrat Shastri's Thai Ramayana 28, Hanuman as a diplomat!

I thought I will give you a flavour of the original translation:
Hanuman, though much ecstasized at the presentation of Suvarnamatsya, he spoke to her these words, 'O Survarnamatysa, this speech of yours is full of significance, is hearty, and is graced with clear wording, but I speak these words in contradistinction to those of yours.'

'It is said that relationship arises through conversation, and that relationship of both of us has come into existence here in the midst of the ocean. Whatever I, your relation, say to you with desire to welfare, O good lady! Listen to that.'

'The faculty of thinking, which has been provided by the nature, should never be forsaken by the people in the world. Otherwise, in no way there can be a distinction between human beings and beasts. The words which you have uttered, are quite true. Elder are always to be given due respect by us in the world. Even then, any action performed by them through impropriety should never be supported.'

'In the guise of an ascetic your father has carried away the chaste wife of  Sri Rama, through deception....he has earned ill fame for himself in all the three worlds. He is impure, though a knower of the sense of Vedas. Even Vedas don't purify a person who has fallen from the right conduct....You should not stand by your father, because you are known as the foremost among the discreet.'

Having heard these powerful words of the monkey, she was shaken and was plunged in deep thoughts. She sighed deeply and said she agreed with him, 'I am a woman. Carrying off a woman by force or by trick I do not support. Her separation from the husband leads to her suffering, because the husband is the supreme lord to a wife. Foolish as I am, I yielded myself to the affection of my father and engaged myself in helping him. Now my delusion is gone by your words, soft and full of thoughts. I am ready to obey your orders. Let all my followers stop. Let the stones be restored ....'

Quite impressive considering that Hanuman is a Vanara and Suvaranamatsya, Ravana's daughter is half fish and half demon!

Hanuman trying to stop a fish!
